In April 2007, DTB, Russian Digital TV and Radio Broadcasting Company, concluded an agreement with I.S.P.A.-Engineering on implementation of commercial DVB-H project in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and other Russian cities.

I.S.P.A.- Engineering, a well-known system integrator, participated in development DTV systems for major Russian companies, such as NTV Plus, StarGate-TV, COMCOR Corporation (“Zhulebino Digital District ” project in Moscow), IPTV Head Ends for STREAM-TV and QWERTY project for the Central Telegraph. In 2006 the largest in Russia telecom project of digitizing federal VGTRK-RTRN satellite digital distributing network has been executed in unprecedented time.

Last year I.S.P.A. carried out researches for definition of possible transmitting points and coverage areas in Moscow and Moscow region. In 2007 I.S.P.A. specialists will complete the first stage of DTV project: it is planned to build a satellite downlink station, a Head End, and a monitoring control room, install the equipment for uplink station, and put SFN networks in operation in several cities of Russia. At the first stage, the Head End based on Thomson equipment will provide transmission of 16 TV channels. The trial broadcasting will start in November 2007, in several cities simultaneously. At this stage the actual coverage zones will be defined and installation of equipment in transmission points for obtaining uniform coverage – including Moscow Metro – will be continued. In spring 2008, after complete system installation and debugging, the commercial broadcasting will be launched.
