Channel 5 in St.-Petersburg expands to All-Russia broadcasting

A successor of an oldest Russian television company, Leningrad TV, St. Petersburg Channel 5 has grown up to the federal level of broadcasters. People of 44 Russian regions will now be able to watch news programs, publicistic, social and political, cultural, entertaining, music programs offered by Channel 5.

The ambitious expansion plans of the Channel 5 were implemented by I.S.P.A.-Engineering. The renovation project involved building an automated server-based complex of ON-Air and Machine Rooms. A New Playout System allows dropping the costs and increasing the productivity of the Channel.

I.S.P.A.-Engineering, Russian largest system integrator, designed the project, supplied the equipment, put the whole system into operation, trained the personnel. I.S.P.A.-Engineering is known in the market as an innovator, who puts together the most advance solutions in broadcast technologies. Here are a few of them: Seachange RAID 2 architecture provides flexibility in managing fail tolerance, storage and playout/record channels. Harris automation system serves as the facility’s central interface for media data acquisition and checking, transmission of media data from NLE stations to video server storage, playlists programming and 3-channel playout.
